Dr. Lorne Huston, our historical consultant, will be showing us Robert Buss’ painting: “Dickens’ Dream”. Follow the link to view the painting and character key.
Based on images of figurines of Dickens characters found on the internet, Judith and Dr. Lorne Huston will conduct a quiz called “What Dickens Character am I? and What Book Do I Come From?”

A special viewing of the first three episodes of "Dickensian" will take place at Ellie’s home. As many of you know, this is the much awaited and highly popular BBC "soap-opera" based on a melange of Dickens characters and plots.
Ellie will be serving tea, coffee and goodies as per usual. Feel free to bring along your own tasty treats to share.
Dan Calinescu, who was to be our guest speaker at this meeting had to postpone his talk until a later date. We miss having him as our welcomed visitor this year, but wish him a very speedy recovery.

Combined Dickens Fellowship and Bimetallic Question Society meeting. The selected Arthur Conan Doyle story is “The Adventure of Black Peter” (from “The Return of Sherlock Holmes”). There will be a quiz based on this story.
Clifford Goldfarb will be giving a 30 minute talk entitled “If Arthur Conan Doyle met Charles Dickens”. He will be speaking about the “real” meeting between Dickens and Doyle, comparing their similarities and differences.

Susan Waxman, one of our member, will be sharing with us her exploration of the Dickens House Museum on Doughty Street and her Dickensian adventures while touring London this past holiday season. Susan is very familiar with London and designed her own Dickens walking tour. She is a passionate lover of London and Dickens and we are lucky to have her as a member.
Please join us for what promises to be a very lively meeting! If you have your own Dickens/London related travels or experiences, you are most welcome to participate in the discussion!
We are delighted to be able to present to Michèle Le Fèvre, Community Giving Coordinator, (The Montreal Children’s Hospital Foundation), a donation cheque in the amount of $2,500. from our Montreal Fellowship members.
The Tiny Tim Fund helps the Paediatric Social Services Department of the hospital provide much needed financial support to Montreal’s most disadvantaged families. They help pay for costly transportation, accommodation for out-of-town families, meal tickets and medication. They also service our northern communities.
Don’t forget to reserve your spot for the Victorian Tea on June 21st! Tickets are $10 for members and $15 for non-members.

Victorian apparel, hats, gloves, etc. are welcome! Tea, sandwiches, scones, cookies and cakes will be served. Guests are encouraged to bring their own china teacups, saucers and cake plates. Prizes will be raffled off.
A $15 donation is suggested, $10 for Members of the Fellowship. Profits benefit the Tiny Tim Fund of the Montreal Children's Hospital.
There is place for 30-40 guests, please advise ASAP if you plan to attend.
