Victorian Afternoon Tea - June 9, 2015
Programme
The event was held at the majestic Concert Hall of Victoria Hall
Our U-shaped table was set with china, pretty coloured napkins and potted red geraniums
A variety of Dickens characters were displayed on a size table
Judith and Maura welcomed the guests
Averill and Sylvia were pleased to attend
Ellie welcomed all the guests
Her opening remarks included a review of our past year
and a preview of next year (we will be discussing "The Old Curiosity Shop")
Many of our guests came in Victorian costume
Colourful large hats were in abundance and added to the fun ambiance
Our repast consisted of mixed berry salad, a variety of dainty sandwiches, fudge and a variety of cookies and squares
Ellie introduced our honorary guest Judith Berlyn, librarian of the Château Ramezay
Averill Craig read a selection from Dickens' Martin Chuzzlewit
Margaret Nicolai read a selection from Dickens' David Copperfield
Judith Elson read a selection from Dickens' Great Expectations
